The big-brother superstate has been on our minds for some time now, and for many of us it’s our worst fear. If it isn’t yours, it probably will be after watching this.

The Last Enemy is mathematician Steven (Benedict Cumberbatch) back in the UK from China, only to find that the UK has become a nightmare state in which every little bit of human movement is controlled by government. And then there’s his brother, who disappeared somehow, his brother’s wife who turns up and himself with an electronic tag in his arm preventing him from leaving the country. His ex girlfriend is now the Home Secretary and she coerces him into working for the state, perfecting the system.

This miniseries is a true gem, enjoy the ride.
